I am fascinated as to why why you mentioned Thorncote (Green) , it is the smallest hamlet one could ever imagine - it is in the parish of Northill which I would not say was particularly near Potton. Gamlingay is closer, just across the boarder into Cambridgeshire. Don't forget the parishes of Sutton and Wrestlingworth, much closer to Potton.
