I have just obtained a copy of my great grandfather Sergt.-Major Henry Dawson's obituary in the Bedfordshire Times and Independent (23.02.1900) and discovered that his father was the landlord of the Bull Inn, Silver Street, Bedford, and 'a prominent figure in Bedford life at the beginning of the Queen's reign, and organiser of the famous sports in Bedford on the day of the Queen's coronation'. If anyone has the 1841 census for Bedford and could look up the details of those living at the Bull Inn, or knows anything about the sports event I would really appreciate the information. TIA, Kathy
