Have you checked the IGI on www.familysearch.org, where virtually all of Beds pre 1812 has been extracted? You will find a James baptised in 1784 in Clifton who may be the one you are looking for. I searched the Arlesey Parish records and found an entry saying that James Albon born Clifton married Elizabeth Oliver from Arlesey 13th Feb 1804 which sounds about right considering he had a son John who was born 1814.
