I too have Romany ancestors and unusual Christian names include Vanzloe/Vanslow; Kadalia; Faurnity (various spellings of); Mazally; Calentia and Counselleta. However - the one which does not belong to a Romany is Groom Garner. He married Sarah BASS in Cranfield on 18 Nov 1785. I have no idea where he was before that. I thought perhaps there was a mistake and his occupation was written down as his name however, he is also Groom on the baptisms of his children. Any early sightings of him would be much appreciated Jackie
