Hi I have today received some parish registers for Upper and Lower Gravenhurst and Meppershall - I kno what I will be doing all weekend. Have also ordered Shillington, but that is out of print. However, I have just looked up the index at the back at one of the surnames that primarily interests me - Carter. It says I should look in A1-12, 14-15, etc. I have looked in the index of places and can't figure out where A1-12 is. Am I being particularly senile by not getting this? Can anyone tell me help me who has these registers as to which parish A1-12 is? Thanks Denise scratching her head in Enfield

Hi Denise My Henlow transcript is similar - the index also contains entries for Upper Stondon and Astwick, but the key is explained immediately beneath the Index of Persons heading.
