Know all Men, these Presents that We William Mace of Tempsford in the County of Bedford Butcher, John Brown of Tempsford aforesaid yeoman, Peter Addington of Roxton in the said County Yeoman, and Luke Addington of Wyboston in the Parish of Eaton Socon in the said County Yeoman are held and firmly bound to William Law and John Weston Churchwardens and George Walker John Lord and Charles Saymour Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Eaton Socon in the said County in Forty Pounds of good and Lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to the said Churchwardens and Overseers or their certain Attorney Successors or Assigns for the true Payment whereof We bind ourselves our Heirs Executors and Administrators Jointly and Severally Firmly by these Presents Sealed with our Seals Dated this Thirteenth day of December in the Year of our Lord 1763. Whereas Elizabeth Whittimore of Eaton Socon aforesaid Singlewoman hath in a Voluntary Examination on both before Richard Audell Esqr one of his Majesties Justices of the Peace for the said County Declared herself to be with Child and that such Child is likely to be Born a Bastard and hath Charged the above bound William Mace with having begotten the same Now the Condition of the above Obligation is such that of the above bound William Mace, John Brown, Peter Addington and Luke Addington their Heirs Executors or Administrators do from time to time and at all times Hereafter fully and Clearly Acquit Exonerate and Discharge or otherwise well and Sufficiently save Harmless and Indemnified as well the said William Law, John Weston, George Walker, John Lord and Charles Saymour Churchwardens and Overseers aforesaid and their Successors for the time being and every of them as also all he Inhabitants and Parishioners of the said Parish of Eaton Socon aforesaid which now are or at any time hereafter shall be (for the time being) and every of them of and from all and all manner of Expences Damages Costs Charges and Incumbrances whatsoever which shall or may in any manner or at any time hereafter Arive come Grow or be Imposed upon them or any or either of them for or by reason or means of the Birth Maintenance Education or bringing up such Child or Children that the said Elizabeth now goeth with and shall be Delivered of and of and from all Actions Suits Charges Troubles Damages and Demands whatsoever touching or Concerning the same Then the above Obligation to be Void or Else to remain in full force.
