Know all Men by these Presents that I Charles Fisher of Honidon in the Parish of Eaton Socon in the County of Bedford Carpenter am held and firmly Bound unto Joseph Green of Eaton Socon aforesaid Grocer and Richard Kefford of Wyboston in the said Parish of Eaton Socon Yeoman Churchwardens, and John Emery Junr John Tingey and John Goodliff Overseers of the Poor of the Parish aforesaid in the said County (in trust for the said Paritioners of the said Parish) in Fifteen Pounds of Lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid to the said Churchwardens, or Overseers or their certain Attorney their Executors, Administrators, or Assigns, for the true payment whereof I Bind myself my Heirs Executors and Administrators, firmly by these presents; Sealed with my Seal, Dated this Sixteenth Day of May in the Sixteenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third of Great Britain, France and Ireland King, defender of the Faith, and so forth, and in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and Seventy Six. The condition of this obligation is such that whereas Mary Taylour of Honidon in the aforesaid Parish, Single Woman in her examination taken in writing upon oath before William Gery Esq own of his Majestys Justices of the Peace in and for the said County, hath declared, that on the 25 Day of March now last past, she the said Mary Taylor was delivered of a Male Bastard Child, and that the said Bastard Child, is likely to become chargeable to the said Parish of Eaton Socon, and hath charged the above Bound Charles Fisher with haveing got her with child of the said Bastard Child, therefore the said Charles Fisher his Heirs, Executors or Administrators do and shall from time to time, and at all times hereafter, fully and clearly indemnify and save harmless, as well the above named Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Eaton Socon and their Successors for the time being, of and from all manner of Costs, Taxes, Rates, Assessments and charges whatsoever, for or by reason of the Birth, education and maintenance of the Said Child, and of and from all Actions, Suits, Troubles, and other charges and demands whatsoever touching or concerning the Same; that then this present obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in force.
