If Ellen was born c1831, it's highly likely she would be married by 1851. Have you compared her place of residence in 1841 with birthplace given in 1851 census. What does the 1861 entry show? Where have you looked for BDM entries?. Apart from her birth, all BDM events for Ellen are after 1837, so registration is compulsory and should be available on FreeBMD. Except for deaths, IGI for Bedfordshire has almost 99% coverage of available parish records for earlier dates. If Ellen did first marry Lewis Jordan, then what became of Julia?
