Know All Men by these Presents that J John Chaplin ? of Wistow in the County of Huntingdon Yeoman am held and Firmly bound to William Law of Eaton Socon in the County of Bedford Grocer and James Sykes of the parish of Eaton Socon aforesaid Yeoman Edward Pridmore of Eaton Socon aforesaid joyner and William Howkins of Eaton Socon aforesaid Yeoman church regarding overseers of the poor in Forty Pounds of good and Lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid to the said William Law James Sykes Edward Pridmore and William Howkins or their certain Attorney Extors Admers Successors or Assigns for the true Payment whereof joind myself my Heirs Extors and Admors Firmly by these presents sealed with my Seal Dated the twenty third day of January in the Year of our Lord 1755. The Condition of this Obligation is such that Whereas Hanah Holding late of Wistow but now of Eaton Socon aforesaid Single Woman was lately delivered of a Female Bastard Child within the parish of Eaton Socon of which is likely to become Chargeable to the said parish of Eaton Socon and of which John Chaplin the son of the above bound John Chaplin is by the said Hanah Holding to be the Father Now the Condition of this Obligation is such that if the abovebound John Chaplin his Heirs Extors or Admors do and shall from time to time and at all times hereafter Acquit Exonerate and Discharge or Otherwise well and Sufficiently save and keep harmless and Indemnifyed as well the abovenamed William Law James Sykes Edward Pridmore and William Howkins Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the parish of Eaton Socon aforesaid and their Successors for the time being and every of them as also all the Inhabitants and parishioners of the said parish for the time being of all from all and all Manner of Expences Damages Costs and Charges whatsoever which shall or may Arive come from grow or be Imposed upon them or any of them for or by reason or means of the birth Maintenance and bringing up of such Child and of and from all Actions Suits Troubles Charges Damages and Demands whatsoever Touching or Concerning the same Then the above Obligation to be Void.
