On researching the army service papers 1883-1914, I discovered that most of my missing men were serving in the army in South Africa in the Boer War. Hello Sandra, Were you researching these army papers at PRO or is something available online. I am in France. Arthur was definately in the 1st Beds when he died in 1915. If he previously served with them in 1901 he would have been in India. But it is a big IF. Apparantly his number could indicate that he joined up originally around 1910. So, then there is a possibility that he might have seen service at an earlier time with a completely different regiment. So, it would be handy if I could do some research with army service papers that you mention. Can you point me in the right direction? Regards, Chris
