Hi, Peter, Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried all of them and have found her 1797 death record in Baltimore (only the date in church records; cemetery was removed when a new church was built and headstones gone); probation of her will which I found in London; marriage record, also found in London, and no other info about her in St. Marylebone Church records. I also traveled to Tavistock where I found the marriage record of John and Rachel's daughter, Ann, among microfiche files in the public library of all places. Rachel is not my ancestor as I'm descended from John and another wife, but I'm curious about her because of the story of John and his first wife that has been passed down in our family. My uncles believed John came from the Isle of Jersey and left England because he hated the British. Perhaps Rachel Pheasant (Fezant, Fessant??) was French and also from Jersey? The search continues.
