No, the 1883-1914 Army Service papers are not online, unfortunately. This was original research I did at Kew. However, I do wonder with the more recent publication of the 1914-1920 series on ancestry, whether ancestry might not be involved in a publication exercise of this set of papers. I went to Kew yesterday and there were lots of large "bill boards" on behalf of both ancestry and findmypast advertising their partnership status with the TNA. Hello Sandra, Were you researching these army papers at PRO or is something available online. I am in France. Arthur was definately in the 1st Beds when he died in 1915. If he previously served with them in 1901 he would have been in India. But it is a big IF. Apparantly his number could indicate that he joined up originally around 1910. So, then there is a possibility that he might have seen service at an earlier time with a completely different regiment. So, it would be handy if I could do some research with army service papers that you mention. Can you point me in the right direction?
