    3. Hi, At this point there's a gap of 23 years and a change of format. Jim Bundy This Indenture Witnesseth That John Rich of Eaton Socon in the County of Bedford doth put himself Apprentice to Thos Fisher Carpenter of the aforesaid place to learn high Art and with hi after the manner of an Apprentice to serve from the Date hereof During the Term of Seven Years from thence next ensuing and fully to be compleat and ended during which Term the said Apprentice his Master faithfully shall and will serve, his secrets keep, his lawful Commands every where gladly do, he shall so no Damage to his said Master nor see it to be done of others, but to his Power shall let or forth: with give Notice to his said Master of the same. The Goods of his said Master he shall not waste nor the same without Licence of him to give or lend. Hurt to his said Master he shall not do, cause, or procure to be done, he shall neither buy not sell without hi Masters Licence. Taverns, Inns, or Alehouses he shall not haunt. At Cards, Dice, Tables, or any other unlawful Game he shall not play. He shall not Contract Matrimony nor from the service of h(is) said M(aster) Day or Night absent h(im)self, but in all Things as an honest and faithful Apprentice shall and will demean and behave himself toward his said Master and all his during the said Term. And the said Master shall procure and provide for him Sufficient Meat, Drink Apparel Lodging Washing and all other Necessaries the said Apprentice in the Art of a Carpenter shall just act which he now useth shall teach and instruct or cause to be taught and instructed the true Way and Manner that he can finding and allowing unto h(is) said Apprentice sufficient Meat, Drink, Washing, Lodging and all other Necessaries during the said Term in the Consideration of the Sum of Two Pounds of Lawful Money of Great Brittain to him the Said Master paid And for the true Performance of all and every the Covenants and Agreements aforesaid either of the said Parties bindeth Themselves firmly by these Presents. In Witness whereof the Parties abovesaid to these Indentures interchangeably have set their Hands and Seals the Thirteenth Day of July in the Twenty Ninth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George by the grace of God of Great Brittain, France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith: And in the year of our Lord 1756 N.B. What Money or other Thing is given or contracted for which the Apprentice must be inserted in Words at length, and the Duty paid within the Time limits to the Stamp Office, else the Indenture will be void, the Master forfeit Fifty Pounds and another Penalty, and the Apprentice be disablat to follow the Trade and be made Free and so forth Note: The officer is No 8 in Lincolne Inn New Square, London: and the office hours are from Nine to Twelve in the Morning and from Two to Five in the Afternoon Holydays excepted.
