    3. That's an interesting find Peter, the 1841 baptism of 34 year old Mary Hight in Kempston, parents Samuel and Jane. It's an extracted item, so reliable. There's an extracted marriage on the IGI of Jonathan Swales and Mary Hight at Kempston on 16 Feb 1829. In 1851 living in Kempston were Jonathan Swales 42 born Kempston, and his wife Mary age 44 born Colmworth. So it seems as though she is one of the missing children of Samuel and Jane born in that gap between 1803 and 1810. But the baptism entry is in her maiden name of Hight, as opposed to Swales, which I've not seen before. It would be interesting to see what the full entry says. I don't think there are any Colmworth baptisms missing - I've never seen two separate registers for males and females (although others may have) - as there are plenty of male baptisms on the BVRI in Colmworth 1812-22. I think it's merely that none of the Hite sons were baptised.
