Does anyone have access to Colmworth Parish records that might assist with this query? From observations of the Colmworth batches it looks like male christenings are missing and that there was a practice of many family christenings being performed on the one day. I'm wondering if PR's might record the actual ages of those being baptised. 1841 census shows only three HITE families in Bedfordshire, one at Colmworth, one at Ravensden and the third at Wilden. Only one person is aged over 40. And there are no Hite variants in Colmworth. I might look to trace some of the BDM events through to later censuses. Peter
