Colmworth parish register has been extracted onto the IGI and BVRI, so the records are easily accessible. There's no Samuel Hite baptised c1800. But there is: the IGI at www.familysearch.org has a marriage of James Hite and Ann Stringer at Colmworth on 27 March 1795. The parish register transcript shows both as being resident of Colmworth. They baptised Edith on 3 Apr 1796 at Colmworth, then William on 15 Apr 1798 (both from the transcript). The BVRI then shows (all children of James and Ann) Mary Hite born 25 Oct 1805 baptised 14 Mar 1819 (buried 26 Aug 1823 age 18) Frances Hite baptised 18 Jul 1819 (there's a Fanny Hite buried 30 Sept 1850 age 48) James Hite baptised 18 Jul 1819 (no father named) Maria Hite baptised 18 Jul 1819 (no father named) Rebecca Hite baptised 18 Jul 1819 (no father named) Samuel Hite baptised 18 Jul 1819 It looks to me as though this is a late baptism of your Samuel. James the father appears to have been transported as well - see http://apps.bedfordshire.gov.uk/grd/detail.aspx?id=514 which may explain why the later children weren't baptised until they were adults, and why only the mother was named for three of them- if James had been transported in 1805 perhaps he wasn't the father. BVRI also has 11 Mar 1821 Hannah Hite dau of Samuel & Jane 11 Mar 1821 Sarah Hite dau of Samuel & Jane 11 Mar 1821 Susan Hite dau of Samuel & Jane But I can't find a marriage of Samuel and Jane Trying to trace them via censuses - there's a James Hite born 1811 in Colmworth in 1851, possibly the one baptised in 1819. But there were other Hites born in Colmworth showing in censuses who don't appear to have been baptised. It will take me a while to try to sort them out. Bear with me.
