Hi Robert, Albert STIMPSON married Margaret JAYES Hackney Jun Q 1883. As you said in 1891 & 1901 he is back in Dunstable with Margaret & family but in 1881 he is living in Islington whilst his wife Caroline is visiting her parents William & Charlotte MAILES in Caddington Beds. Also as you said Caroline reverts to her maiden name in 1891 & 1901 & says she's single. Divorce was very expensive in those days so Albert may have married Margaret bigamously. If he was divorced the marriage cert. to Margaret will say so. Couldn't find Albert in 1861 but in 1851 he is recorded as Albert OLIVER. His mother is Caroline & Caroline STIMPSON married Thomas OLIVER (who may or may not be his father)Lambeth Mar Q 1848. Again as you said there does not appear to be a registered birth for Albert nor his sister Janet. Caroline is the daughter of Stephen STIMPSON & I believe Susan FOWLER who married at St Anne Soho in 1806 & I'd say there is a good chance that Stephen is the son of Stephen STIMPSON & Jennett MARDOCH (IGI) who also married there in1780 as he gave his son William the middle name Murdoch. All this should be checked against original records. Go here if you want to find out more about Caroline's brothers. http://apps.bedfordshire.gov.uk/grd/results.aspx Regards, Glen. But in 1881 he is married to a Margaret from islington a lot younger than albert(no record of a marriage). Caroline is back using her maiden name. 1891 and 1901 he is back in dunstable running a grocers shop and stiffening hats. who were his parents? what was Margarets Maiden Name was he divorced, or did he not marry margaret.
