Hi Angela I have three census entries for Joseph PARSONS b.1798 Meppershall, first wife Mary BONE b.1801 Haynes with 9 children: Louisa 1818, William 1819, Samuel 1821, Elizabeth 1826, Ann 1826, Sarah 1828, Samuel 1828, John 1830 and James 1833, all born at Flitton with Silsoe apart from the last two born at Meppershall. Mary died Feb 1840 Meppershall. His second wife was Sarah DEVONSHIRE b 1809 Campton, married 15 Feb 1846 Meppershall, with one child, Joseph b 1848 Meppershall. Census entries: 1841 aged 45, living at Meppershall with his children, William 20, Elizabeth 15, Ann 15, John 9 and James 6. Wife not with him, may be deceased. 1851 aged 54, living at Meppershall with his second wife, Sarah 40, children James 18, George 3, and stepsons William Devonshire 12 and Thomas 6. 1861 aged 67, living at High Road, Meppershall with his wife Sarah 51, son George 14, and stepsons William Devonshire 21 and Thomas Devonshire 16.
