Hi Maureen I only find an Oxfordshire born Daniel CROSS in 1861 & 1871 in England The English pension started in 1908 for 70 year olds and was heavily means tested If he was retired at 59 he most likely had either money in the bank or property and was living off the income from that I am not sure why you would think he would send money back to New Zealand ? If he did not contact them you can only assume he didn't want to, what makes you think he should have done Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Could s.k.s help with this family > Daniel ward Cross born 1852 oxford married (bigamist wife and family in > New Zealand) Emma Geary born 1871northchurch lived at 5 Dudley st bedford > in the 1911 cencus. In any case, the pension records are not currently accessible. > > If he was retired at 59 he most likely had either money in the bank or > property and was living off the income from that > >
