    1. [BDF] HUGUENOT TALK + EAST ANGLIAN ROOTS
    2. On Saturday May 8, Michael Gandy will talk about TRACING YOUR HUGUENOT ANCESTORS -or were they just French? These are attrractive ancestoirs to have, hard working, creative, no strange religious complications. But were they really Huguenot, or later French emigres? Or indeed, just some odd Anglo-Saxon surname which happened to begin the De? Michael Gandy is the expert, and a very entertaining one too. Talk at 3pm For an hour from 2pm, you can make use of a wide ranbge of research material - books, fichesd, CDs - for East Anglia (where many opf the Huguenots settled as weavers). Not only Essex, Suffolk amd Norfolk, but, for good measure, Cambridge and Huntingdon, including a number of parish registers and censuses/ Also demonstration of using Family Historian progam at 2.20pm. Venue is the Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School, Oxford Rd (A418), Aylesbury. From the town centre, it is just over the rail bridge, left off its own roundabout (marked 'Aylesbury College' which shares the site) >From Oxford, pass through the first set of traffic lights as you approach the town, and turn right/ There is ample parking beside the drive, or in the car park to the right of the school entrance (immediately near door is reserved for officials and disabled.)
