    1. [BDF] Capewell Walker (2)
    2. Roger Capewell
    3. Hello Gus and Peter, Many thanks for your messages and help. Donald Frederick CAPEWELL and Maria WALKER were married in 1917 and their daughter Catherine was born on the 26th of May 1921 at Dundee, Scotland. Because of Catherine's parents (Donald Frederick & Maria) vocation with the Salvation Army it appears that they lived in many places in the U.K. and I presume that this was the reason for the family being in Dundee. Donald Frederick died at Kempston, Bedford in 1962 and Maria Died in 1976 also at Kempston. At the time that Donald died he was a Salvation Army Brigadier. Fortunately I have found an obituary for Donald on Ancestry. Peter was quite right in suggesting that I hope to be able to contact with living relatives of Donald and Maria Capewell. I know that it is a little unusual and I hope that I have not mislead anyone but I am trying to locate any living Capewell relatives of Donald Frederick Capewell & Maria in the hope that they might like to have the Capewell family history information that I and other family members hold. Our combined Capewell information goes back to circa 1630. Thank you Gus for the Staffordshire Capewell/Walker information but my relatives forenames were definitely Donald Frederick. I sincerely hope that none of the three unknown children of Donald and Maria (info via Ancestry) were born in Staffordshire as that is were our Capewell family were resident from the early 17th century and there are literally hundreds and hundreds of Capewell's in that county. Worry not, Bedfordshire is almost Capewell free! <grin> Best wishes from Roger ------------------------------------------------ Peter wrote:- Roger, You'll have to help us. I wasn't able to find a marriage between David Capewell and Maria Walker or a birth of Catherine Capewell around 1921. If they stayed in UK and the names are spelt correctly they, and subsequent generations, should all appear on quarterly BMD indexes which are available on Ancestry and other sources right up to 2006. You are obviously looking for links to current generations, and have earlier data, so I didn't look before 1911. You might fins something in submitted trees at Ancestry or Rootsweb. Peter Gus wrote:- Hello Roger, The earliest marriage of a Donald CAPEWELL in England & Wales that Ancestry.uk produces was in 1951 - 8 others followed up to 1998. Similarly, the *only* CAPEWELL birth - with mother's maiden name WALKER - was that of a William F CAPEWELL, 1916 Jun Q, Stoke on Trent, 6b 288. It may be worth your while to buy this certificate to see if his parents match your subjects. There'd appear to belittle connection to BDF or BKM..... Possible conclusions: 1) They married "abroad" - where their possible other children were born; or 2) they adopted - presumably before the Adoption Act of 1926 - the 'other children'. Gus
