Kia Ora from New Zealand The Hill/s have been a problem for me as well! I have them from Newton Bromswold, including a George Hill/s who married Mary Ann Fairey from Yelden and had a daughter Rose Hannah (Rosannah?) in 1873 in Irchester Northants. So they were definitely on the move. Some of these Hill/s were Wesleyan Methodists. Write to me privately if you wish me to double check your info against mine. Your Rosanna would probably be married ? Hello Listers My Bedford interests include Nanny UNDERWOOD b 1790 at Millbrook, and married William WOODLAND there in 1816. Nanny was the daughter of William and Sarah Underwood (nee SMITH) m 1779 at Millbrook also. TIA Phyll Clover
Hi Phyll, I have Underwoods in my tree. My Gt Gt Grandmother was Mary Underwood, born Pulloxhill to Martha Underwood, father unknown.Previously the line was in Maulden. Mary was the second wife of James STONEBRIDGE of Tempsford. I can go back a couple of generations with the Underwoods, if you want to know more. Jill
I am looking to find more information on my Parrell / Parel name. William Parrell was baptised in 1791 in Clophill, Bedfordshire to Thomas Parrell and Hannah. Thomas Parrell married Hannah Martin in 1790 in Clophill. Thomas was baptised in 1763 to Robert Parrell and Susan in Flitwick, Bedfordshire. I have not been able to find Robert Parrell's baptism if anyone can help or can give any information on the Parrell name I would be very grateful. Thank you for any help Jacqueline
Dear listers: I am new to this list, my inerest is the NANKIVELL family who might have lived at #14 or #17 Warwick Ave in Bedford during WW2...maybe also before and after. I wonder if SKS could look up in Directories for Bedford for those years for either : the address above or the surname, NANKIVELL. or direct me to sources for this information. thanks Liz of BC Canada
I would be really grateful if someone could do a look-up in the Wootton PRs for a marriage between John Gillett (from Marston Moretaine) and Elizabeth Hutchings (or similar!) in 1866. A few years ago I found a notice of the banns being read in Wootton (the entry was hard to read, so I can't be sure Elizabeth's surname is correct), and I think I checked the Wootton marriage register, did not find the marriage and concluded that the wedding hadn't actually taken place - but as I've got no record of having done so, I'd really appreciate it if someone could take another look. I have extracted all the Gillett records for Marston and can be certain the marriage didn't take place there. I'm trying to trace what happened to John (who was baptised 1847, son of Charles and Mary Gillett), but it's not straightforward as there is another John Gillett, his cousin, born to Mark and Elizabeth Gillett in 1845, and from the later censuses it is impossible to tell which is which! With thanks and best wishes Jo ___________________________________________________________ Tiscali Broadband from 14.99 with free setup! http://www.tiscali.co.uk/products/broadband/

Dear Cathy, Thank you for the followup on George and Susan. It does look like a promising lead. I will also get the marriage certificate to check the ages on that. If that jells then we might be on a winner. I do understand about George not knowing where he was born. We can only go by what we have, and check as many ways as possible. Thank you also for the link to the IGI by village/town. I had not seen that before. My other branches have yielded very little from the IGI so I don't always check it out as soon as I might... it has been valuable here.
