    3. My 1890s Bible's "Index of Proper Names - with their Accentuation and Meanings" gives Asenath as: AS'-E-NATH = she who is of Neith or Pallas Which doesn't seem to help very much as she is NOT included in the same work's "Alphabetical Index of the Holy Scriptures" which does include Individuals' names.... Maybe she was Welsh??? But definitely the name has a Non-Conformist ring to it, as they seemed to prefer the Old Testament to the New... 3. There are a few other children to Joseph and Charlotte born in Wrestlingworth. If you enter this batch number and the name Darnell P003271 on the ww.familysearch.org site you will find them. I have also found a James Darnell in the 1841 census for Wrestlingworth age 30 with a wife Susan. 25 It is possible also that there is a William 20 and Sarah 25 Darnell in the house next door.. but the writing is a bit ifffyy. 1. BOYCE FAMILY...DUNSTABLE.
    2. sieggy
    3. Good morning Listers, I am trying to find some roots for my Descendants and thought would ask for your help. My Descendant...WILLIAM JOHN BOYCE.........immigrated to Australia and I am trying to find out if in fact this is his family. From the 1851 census I found father William Boyce c1807....Newport, Pagnell, Buckinghamshire. mother: Elizabeth c1812.........Dunstable They had the following children: Ann c1838......Dunstable Betsy....c1842.....Dunstable Emma..c1848......Dunstable James. c1845......Dunstable Sarah... c1850......Dunstable And my Descendant who came to South Australia. WILLIAM BOYCE born c1836....also at Dunstable. I am hoping that someone on your list is related to this Boyce family and they could perhaps tell me if William immigrated to South Australia...he was married in Adelaide 1862. I have been searching for 3 years now and unfortunately the wedding certificate from Adelaide does not mention where he was born.....does not even mention his date of birth only that he was full age...which I presume was over 21 years. And it is a shame that on the certificate it does not mention his mother's name which might have helped me a bit more. And of course all the relations who could have told me are all dead. It is a shame that I was not interested in family research 20 years ago...but then I was busy trying to raise 5 children. I thought it was worth a try to ask on your list and see what happens. Have a lovely day, and many thanks, Sieglinde, Queensland, Australia.

    3. Hi Keith A Samuel Darnell, son of Joseph and Charlotte, was baptised at Wrestlingworth on 30 May 1813, per the IGI - www.familysearch.org. To get a copy of the page from the parish register you could order the microfilm from your nearest LDS Family History Centre - list of centres on the same website as the IGI. The same with the Lancs record which may be the one on the IGI showing baptism of William Dernell, son of Samuel and Margaret, at Bury on 30 Nov 1845 (born 10 Oct 1845) -you can also purchase his birth certificate online from the GRO -£7-00 - it was registered as William Darnell at Bury registration district in the Dec 1845 quarter, volume 21 page 296 Alternatively you could approach Bedford Records Office - archive@bedscc.gov.uk to see if they can send you a copy of the baptism entry for Samuel Hope this helps Regards David Keith Darnell <darnell@dodo.com.au> a écrit : G/Day I am new to this list and I am researching my DARNELL family, My G G Grandfather Samuel DARNELL was in the 56th Regiment of foot stationed at the barracks Elton Lancashire in 1845 where his wife gave birth to a son William DARNELL William had an older brother Joseph born in Kilkenny Ireland 1844 where the Regiment was stationed at the time the mother was Irish so I suspect they were married there, in 1846 the regiment was posted to Gibraltar then in 1851 to Bermuda where a girl Mary Ann was born after their return to GB I lose them about 1856 the mother dies and Samuel remarries to a second Irish girl leaves the army and goes to live in Potton Beds and is found on the 1861 census there the census says Samuel was born in Wrestlingworth Beds about 1813. 1. Ampthill PRs lookup please LANE & RENOLDS
    2. Donna Bailey
    3. Hi everyone, Would anyone be able to check the Ampthill parish registers for me? I need to check a marriage between John LANE and Sarah RENOLDS on 18 nov 1697. I am looking for any details of whether either party was from a different parish (esp. John). I believe Sarah was bpt.24 jan 1673 in Ampthill - parents Nathaniel and Elizabeth. I am trying to figure out where John came from. John and Sarah had 3 children baptised in Ampthill (Ann 1702, Elizabeth 1705 & Jane 1707 and I have these dates) but I believe they also had 3 children baptised in Husborne Crawley - John 1697, Sarah 1701 and William 1706. If anyone can help me sort out this family I would really appreciate it. All the best, Donna
