    3. Breast feeding is not the contraceptive it is often made out to be. One of my university classmates had her first two children ten months apart, and became pregnant while breast feeding her elder son. Mind you, the younger son was premature, but still, Jen became pregnant while breast feeding. ----- Original Message ----- From: AudreyJoyceMcC@aol.com To: BEDFORD-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, June 22, 2006 11:12 PM Subject: Re: [BDF] How many children can one woman have? 3. Hi all, Thought I'd just add my relative to this. She had 23 children all survived birth but only 9 survived to adulthood. The mother only lived to age 60 but the children who survived to adulthood were over 75 when they died and one was 101 another 99 and 10 months. Sue

    3. Hi All I just want to join in although my grandmother was born in Devon. She had 22 pregnancies, 16 live births 12 of whom lived to maturity. There was only one set of twins, one of whom died aged 18 months. The other three deaths were small babies. My mother, one of the younger members of the family, always referred to her eldest sister as "My sister,Miss Jones, is coming to stay", when talking to her friends. Grandmother died at the age of 54 having had her first child at the age of 19. She was a dressmaker and made a lot of their clothes herself. Mum said washing day was a full day with the copper boiler blazing most of the day. I always read all you pieces Gale! Best wishes Anne in Markyate researching MEAD, WRIGHT, STEVENS, HOBBS, WALKER, POTTON, GINGER, GOODWIN, HOPKINS, BONE AND FLITTON to mention a few!!

    3. Don't know if this helps but when I got the LDS film from Riseley it contains a note that 1789- 1790 Baptisms were missing - just the crucial time I wanted! It wasn't the end of a Register but there was a loose note found recording a baptism apparently. I suspect that sometimes notes were made and later transcribed into the Register! And occasionally they were lost- which reminds what happened to my shopping list...? Very frustrating! 3. Hi Peter Can't answer your main question I'm afraid, but there are the following Adams burials in Maulden 4 Aug 1776 Elizabeth 10 Dec 1783 Elizabeth 7 Jan 1784 Elizabeth 6 Nov 1784 William No ages are shown so reference to the parish register is the only way to identify them. Looking at the film notes of the Maulden BTs on the LDS site there are quite a few gaps, but you would need to check the film of the PR to see if there were gaps there also. The best bet is to look at the FG Emmison transcript also available on microfilm at the LDS where it's immediately apparent if there are gaps (and Emmison also draws attention to gaps). The transcript melds the PR and the BT and it's from this that the "P" batch on the IGI is extracted. (the "A" batches are not adjustment batches - these are just effectively member submissions, so should be viewed with the usual caveats and a large bucket of salt) Regards David Peter Booth <pbo08596@bigpond.net.au> a écrit : Can anyone identify this family please.
