My Beckwith emigrated to Australia. My 5 times grandfather a Amey Hammond and it was some of their children who emigrated to Australia. I understand that you ancestors do not come froom Essex, which mine do, and I was wondering if you have found any information that your Beckwith family and mine or connected some how. The reason I am asking is that i have got a William Beckwith born 1680 Rivenhall Essex and i cannot go back any further. Some one did tell me that the name Beckwith was a Yorkshire surname.
