I did see 2 Daniel Beckwith's that serve as Privates in the U.S. Army during the Civil War and they were both from Willett, N.Y. I do know my ancestor Hezekiah Beckwith (Great Grandson of Matthew Beckwith) migrated from Lyme, Connecticut to Dutchess County, New York in 1790.
