NovaScotian;NB, LymeCT;Who is Noble Beckwith's Dad Becky Matthews (Wyswietl posty) Napisano: 25 maj 1999 7:54 My maiden name is Janet Beckwith. My crowd emigrated to Nova Scotia in 1758 from Lyme CT. I believe my forebearer's name was Matthew (probably named after the original.) He took over lands deserted by Acadians after they were expelled. The grant was in Cornwallis My great great grandfather was named "Noble" ( not a common handle). But somehow he arrived in Nova Scotia (the annapolis valley)from somewhere else in the early in the 1800's. We are not sure where he came from! We are pretty sure he was a decendent of Matthew the owner of the acadian lands. The historical record of that area, says he came from New Brunswick. But these could simply have been shipping records. Since the period from 1760 to 1815 contains the American revolution, my hypothesis is that someone left NS to go to the states to help with the war. When they got there they married, and had children. Noble is either a son or grandson of that union. But it creates a missing link in our family.Has anyone heard of a Nobel Beckwith?Who are his parent s and grand parents? Worden is a middle name in the family as is Hartz. This may provide a clue. Please get back by e-mail Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
