Her surname was not Parkhurst. It was Parker. Bethiah Parker was b. 19 March 1767 in New Braintree, Worcester Co., MA. She was the daughter of Joseph Parker (b. 9 Oct. 1735, Andover, Essex Co., MA ; d. 27 Jan. 1825, Cornwall, Addison Co., VT) and his second wife, Zerviah Lincoln (b. 31 July 1746, d. 17 July 1825, Hanover, Grafton Co., NH). Joseph and Zerviah were married 6 Feb. 1766, in New Braintree, MA. More information on the Parker family is available online. It is sad to say that the book "The Beckwiths" is an undependable resource. Experienced genealogical librarians and researchers use it with caution. In fact, three pamphlets were issued by Beckwith family members to correct some of the errors in the book. I'll try to get more information on the correction pamphlets and post it online. Longmont Ledger (Longmont, Boulder County, Colorado) June 18, 1897 Page 3 BECKWITH--WIGGINS--In Longmont, at the Methodist parsonage, by Rev D. B. Vosseller, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. June 16, 1897, Fenton S. Beckwith and Miss L. May Wiggins. The wedding was a quiet affair, Mr. E. Z. Bills and Miss Charolette Beckwith standing up with them. After the ceremony the newly wedded couple took the afternoon train for Georgetown for a few days sojourn. On their return they will go to housekeeping in Robt Blum's cottage on Kimbark street near Fifth avenue, which they have already furnished. Mr. Beckwith and Miss Wiggins are too well known in Longmont to need any introduction, and the Ledger can only wish them long life and happiness in what is now their new relation.
