My Great Grandma was a Beckwith, her father was Dr. Burphee Mayhew Beckwith from Canada originally Yorkshire. I know that his line is from Yorkshire originally and they went to the USA, then the family split and some went to Canada, Nova Scotia. My Grt Grandma is not recorded an the previous family trees as she was illegitimate, I have been tracing the evidence through the Jamaican family genealogy records. Burphee's line is extensively recorded no numerous websites including Geni.com from there you can track way back to as early as 1333. I would also like to make connections with my Beckwith family, so if anyone has a Burphee and a Mayhew in their tree it is highly likely we're related.
