For all you researchers of Alexander, Betty has found a couple of sources that might be helpful. Mickey -----Original Message----- From: Gladys Steinetz & Betty E Crabtree [mailto:circlekb@ctaz.com] Sent: Monday, December 24, 2001 11:36 PM To: mfournier@atlantic.net Subject: Beavers/Alexander - "Happy Birthday" Mildres "Mickey" Fournier, Received your e-mail thru rootsweb-L.com. of Alexander Beavers and sons Moses and Abraham. I am a decendant of Beavers. My Grandmother is Elvira Beavers, She married Stonewall Jackson Rose. My Mother is Scioto Savanna Rose, Crabtree. My name is Betty Elizabeth Crabtree. Elvira Beavers is the daughter of Alexander R. Beavers, he married Mary Jane Barnett. Their children are 1, James- 2, Martha - 3, Sally (Sallie) - 4, Elvira. So far as I know, there are two lines of Beavers that I have. Decendants of John Beavers, and Decendants of Alexander Beavers. I received these from two places. I'll give you the addresses as I do not have them in my computer as of now, or I would just download them to you. I do hope that this helps you and gives you a direction to go in, or another avenue to explore. I have been away from the computer for a while so it has taken me some time to get caught up. The first generations I have, and the one that will be of interest to you is: The Decendants of John Beavers. It is 31 pages long. On page 9, I found an Alexander Beavers, Sr., born 1750 in New Jersey, died before 1825 in Loudon Co., Virginia. Married 1, Nancy (Unknown), 2. Nancy. Notes: Birth could have been in 1843 and death 1820. On page 10, The list of children of Alexander Beavers and Nancy-Unknown, are: 1, Alexander Beavers, Jr. born abt. 1773, Giles Co., Va., died Dec., 1858, Tazewell Co, Virginia The list of children Alexander and Nancy: 2, Moses Beavers - 3, William Beavers - 4, Abraham Beavers -, born 1775. - 5, Robert Beavers, born 1778, Virginia. So far as I know, the Decendants all came from John Beavers, born in 1695 in Germany, wife unknown. Anyway this information came from a David Burke, a decendant of Beavers. He is the one that has this list, a partial one, as he lost part of it. If you e-mail him and ask him to download it to you, via e-mail, he will. This list has helped lots. It is supposed to be the work of a Dr. Woodie Beavers Mullins, believed to live in the Tazewell, Va., vicinity. He is the Vice President of The Tazewell County Historical Society and has done extensive research on the Beavers line, he and a Maggie Woolridge, Gary, West Virginia. I have tried to contact them, but have not had any luck in reaching them. But you contact David Burke at deburg@scescape.net tell him Betty Crabtree ask you to get in touch and ask for the list. Also on the Rootsweb.com and Ancestry.com go to the Ancestry World Tree Project. The Barnett site. The contact is: Joyce Barnett rjbarnett@netscope.net Plus other contacts on this site: For Tazewell County Virginia . Tazewell County Virginia Families and Anestors - http://www.tazewellcountyvirginiafamiliesandancestors.com/ My cousin uses the Tazewell Co Historical Society a lot. and she has some books on the families of Virginia. They cost a bit. They have marriages and deaths. I'll have to look up the names for the books, have not been able to contact the Society as yet. I believe they can be purchased. They may do look ups? The information I have on the Decendants of Alexander Beavers came from the sites from the Barnett site. I believe the Alexanders connect. I believe you can just download the file from the site, or e-mail the contacts and they will. The file is 166 pages long. If any of this helps, please let me know. Anyway, "Happy Birthday", "Merry Christmas" and have a happy, healthy, enjoyable retirement. I'll be 61 on New Years Day. I live in Arizona God bless, Betty Crabtree circlekb@ctaz.com
