It is here with their permission. Hazel O. Beavers Mrs. Hazel Ola Beavers, 90, of Bristol, Va., formerly of North Tazewell, Va., passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at the home of her daughter, Ruth Dotson, following a lenghty illness. She was born in Bandy, Va., and was the daughter of the late Doctor James and Ruth Beavers Mitchell, both Tazewell County natives. She had made her home in the Tazewell area for more than 70 years prior to moving to Bristol 20 years ago. She was a loving mother and housewife and attended Advent Christian Church in North Tazewell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Jackson Beavers; five sisters; and four brothers. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors are: two daughters, Mrs. Loretta Harvey and husband, Jim, of Bluefield, W.Va., and Mrs. Ruth Ola Dotson and husband, Jennings, of Bristol, Va.; two sons, Mr. Cledis Beavers of Marion and Mr. Carl Beavers and wife, Jerri, of Baptist Valley, Va.; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral service will be conducted Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Tazewell with Pastor Don Elswick officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Sunday evening at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Tazewell.
