    3. I need some help with SILAS BEAVERS Thanks to Leah who had an obit on my Sarah A Beavers (maiden name unknown) I now know that she was the wife of a SILAS BEAVERS who lived in GA, Randoplh Co AL and died 9/18/1856. Now I need to know who SILAS was. I need any data on a SILAS BEAVERS born from bef 1805 and died 1856. If you are game, I have included some of the data I already have and my conclusions. Do you like a mystery? I don't have much as I have just confirmed Silas as Sarah's husband, any help would be appreciated. Thanks, CindyHMB ASSORTED DATA ON NAME: SILAS BEAVERS SILAS BEAVER #1 - My Ancestor 1810 SILAS M BEAVERS b abt 1810 GA >From 1850 Census, Randoplh Co AL when SILAS' age is listed as 40 (poor quality microfilm but comparison with other numbers on the page seemed to be a 4 (40), however, descrepencies in age are evident (see 1850 note) 1844 9/3/1844 - SILAS M BEAVERS, Randolph Co, AL >From AL Land & Warrant Records - Register of Receipts, Lebanon 1845 SILAS M BEAVERS married SARAH A (UNKNOWN), maybe GA Marriage is estimate based on oldest child but supported by neighbor's information in Sarah's obituary in the Mena Weekly Star, 1909 Polk Co, AR 1850 SILAS M BEAVERS in 1850 Census, Randoplh Co, AL, Beat #16, p 410 SILAS M BEAVERS age 40 male b GA 600 acres Sarah Beavers age 22 female b GA Mary Beavers age 6 female b GA Johny?Zachry? Beavers age 1m male b AL NOTES: Sarah by later census records was born in 1825, confirmed by her obituary, so her age in 1850 should 25 Mary Ann by later census records was born in 1848 so her age should have been 2 I cannot find widow Sarah and her children in 1860 census yet but do pick them up again in 1870 still/back in Randolph Co AL The 1 month old male name is very difficult to read. At first I thought it was Zachry but it could be misspelled Johnny. He is not with her in 1870 and later records indicate that SILAS & Sarah had a son named John T Beavers born in 1850 AL and married in 1870. 1856 SILAS M BEAVERS died Sept. 18, 1856, (Randolph Co, AL?) >From wife Sarah's Obituary in the Mena Weekly Star, 1909 Polk Co, AR NOTE: Obituary of Sarah Beavers d 1909 in Grannis, Polk Co, AR says Sarah was born in Salem, Georgia November 21, 1825. SILAS BEAVERS #2 1810, 1839 This is on a disk that came with Family Tree Maker: SILAS BEAVERS b. 1810 GA m Sarah Ann Harris in 1839 GA. She was B. 1823 GA. Original Source Doc. Is located in Yates Publication Archive. Source #1939.004 Source type: Family group sheet, FGSE, listed as parents NOTE: This SILAS #2 is promising in names and close on some dates. However, not knowing more or the source of this data, it is hard to cement the dates given here. SILAS #1 was born in 1810 by the 1850 census; SILAS #1's Sarah was born in 1825, close to 1823, both in GA. The date of marriage in 1839 is earlier than thought at abt 1845 but could be correct. The source contains no county. This record needs to be verified and clarified. This could be SILAS #1. SILAS BEAVERS #3 1805 SILAS #3 would be born before 1805, son of Robert Beavers. Will of Robert Beavers, bef 1/12/1805 in Jackson Co, GA wife - Jane daus - Esther Hunt, Rachel Brooks, Polly Freeman, Patsy, Elizabeth, Sally, Charity son - Joseph, Reuben, John, SILAS NOTE: A family trees on the web shows this SILAS to be married to a Sarah and have two children Mary & Johnny which match the 1850 Randolph Co, AL census of SILAS #1 but birth is 1790, not 1810. DESCENDANTS OF JOHN BEAVERS http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/m/u/l/Woodie-S-Mullins/GENE6-0001.html 34. SILAS4 BEAVERS (ROBERT3, THOMAS2, JOHN1) was born 1790 in Georgia. He married SARAH. Children of SILAS BEAVERS and SARAH are: i. MARY5 BEAVERS, b. 1844, Georgia. ii. JOHNNY BEAVERS, b. 1849, Alabama. NOTE: If SILAS #3 is the same as SILAS #1, the age in the 1850 Randolph Co, AL census of 40 would be incorrect and should be at least before 1805 as Robert, the father of SILAS #3, died in 1805. SILAS BEAVERS #4 1827 1827 GA Land Lottery SILAS M BEAVERS orphan Rollins District, Gwinnett Co, GA NOTE: This could be SILAS #3 as he would have been an orphan in 1827 or it could be SILAS #1 or #2 as the state of the parents are unknown in 1827. SILAS BEAVERS #5 1840 1840 census Heard Co, GA, 792nd District, p 299 I do not have this census record yet. SILAS BEAVERS #6 1826 SILAS BEAVERS marries Harriet Duke January 5, 1826 in Early Co, GA. 1830 SILAS BEAVERS in 1830 census, Morgan Co, GA 1835 SILAS M BEAVERS of Morgan Co GA dies, wife Harriet made administrator. Guardianship of orphan daughters of SILAS M BEAVERS, late of Morgan Co GA, in Butts Co GA, January 14, 1840 wife - Harriet (married a Higgins after death of Silas) daus - Amanda H, Eliza L, & Sarah E NOTE: Two family trees on the web show this SILAS #6 to be the son of Alsey Beavers. He would definitely NOT be SILAS #1 as SILAS #1 was still alive after 1835. Ancestors of Neva Kate Carmichael http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/j/o/h/Parley-P-Johnson/GENE5-0005.html Ancestors of Jeanette Ula Wilson http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/c/u/t/Jeanette-W-Cuthriell/GENE1-0015.h tml SILAS M BEAVERS, (Alsey2, William Walter1) born 1800; died 1835; married Harriet Dukes January 05, 1826 in Morgan Co, GA. SILAS BEAVERS #7 1850 1850 Census Fayette Co GA, 29th District, p 54 Silas Beavers age 21? CONCLUSIONS: At the most, SILAS #1 could be the same as SILAS #2-5, making him the SILAS BEAVERS who: - the son of Robert Beavers of Jackson Co GA - was born before 1805, GA - was an orphan in 1827 when he drew for the GA land lottery - married Sarah Ann Harris abt 1839 or later in GA - was in the Heard Co GA census of 1840 - was in the 1850 Census of Randolph Co AL - died in 1856 SILAS #1 CANNOT be SILAS #6 or #7 because: - SILAS #6 died in 1835, SILAS #1 was still living in 1850, died in 1856 - SILAS #7 was alive in 1860 and was too young
