    3. Hi Gary and all, I descend from the same branch of Beavers, but I have run in to a lot of inconsistencies in the information I have been given and found! My line of descent is as follows: ME Effie R. Bertie Malone (1925 Etowah Co, AL-1994 Palm Beach Co, FL) & Wilfred Arthur Kuner(1925 NH-1986 FL) Alfred Major Malone (1890 St Clair Co, AL-1947 Etowah Co, AL) & Nancy Ella Easterwood (1904 TX-1976 AL) Emily Catherine Beavers (St Clair Co, AL-Talladega Co, AL) & Samuel Spencer Malone (1864 WV-1950 Arkansas) Major W. Beavers (Talladega Co, AL) & Mahala McDade Major Clack Beavers (Talladega CO, AL) & Melvinia Clack (dau of Spencer Clack & Mary Beavers) James Beavers 3 Mar 1753 VA- 1826 Limestone Co, AL & Rebecca Majors Thomas Beavers 1718 Germany- 1770 Loudon Co, VA & Martha Clack John Beavers 1695 Germany I'd welcome all advice, corrections, and leads! 1. [BEAVERS] Beavers in Missouri, Ouachita County, Arkansas (one more)
    2. Gary Warner
    3. My other problem with Melisssa Parthenia Beavers being the daughter of James G. Beavers and Nancy James WAS the census record. The only one I had was the 1860 Ouchita County census Missouri Township, which lists the following family: J.G. Beavers 45 M Ten Nancy 36 F Ten Wm J. 15 M Ten Mary F. 13 F Ten Margaret 10 F Ten John 8 M Ark Missouri 5 F Ark Marilda 2 F Ark Marrietta 3/12 F Ark But then I was finally able to get the 1870 census, and darn if it wasn't an "Initial" roll. The census taker didn't write out ANYONE's full name! Lazy good-for-nothing grumbledy grumbledy . . . but here is what I find: Ouachita County, Missouri Twshp, pg. 346 Beavers, J. G. 55 m (TN) N.A. 46 f (TN) M.J. 21 f (TN) M.C. 20 f (TN) John A. 18 m (AR) M.N. 15 f (AR) M.E. 12 f (AR) M.P. 10 f (AR) M.A. 7 f (AR) If we take "M.P." to be Melissa Parthenia, it would be possible that in the previous census she was still a babe in the womb. This would make her a respectable aged 23 when her som Millard Orestes Walthall was born Jan 31, 1883. What would be my next step on "proving" that "M.P." is Melissa Parthenia? Thanks for any help, Gary Warner (in Birmingham, AL)

    1. [BEAVERS] Wishful Beavers line (ARK / TN / AL / VA)
    2. Gary Warner
    3. I was sent a file by one of our fellow researchers that looks extremely complete for my mother-in-law's family. It had no references attached, and I have two problems I've got to work out with it. My mother-in-law always told me that her grandfather "Millard Orestes Walthall" (b. 1883 in Ouachita County, Arkansas) was the son of William Walthall and "Missie Parthenia Beavers". The file I received lists a "Melissa Parthenia Beavers" and gives ancestry back 5 generations to line founder Thomas Beavers born 1718 in Germany who came to Loundon Co, VA. I guess my main hesitation is that I have seen children of James G. Beavers (b.1815 TN) and his wife Nancy James (b.1843 TN) and they never list Melissa Parthenia as a child. One such was posted to this list back in 2000: http://searches2.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ifetch2?/u1/textindices/B/BEAVERS+2000+6382181+F Which has the same line all the way back, Thomas & Martha Clack James & Rebecca Majors John & Jane James & Nancy Could anyone help me find documentation that Melissa Parthenia Beavers who m. Millard Orestes Walthall was a child of James G. Beavers and Nancy James? Thank you for any help! _-_ gar

    2. <<I was looking through the Beavers posts and read yours. I noticed that you have Beavers and Harrison in your family. I am a Beavers descendant, with Harrison. I was wondering if it might be the same family. I have Nancy Harrison married William Beavers. Her parents were, Thomas Harrison Jr, and Rebecca Perry, his parents were, Thomas Harrison Sr,and Hannah Davis. I have the Beavers family as follows. My grandmother was Lydia Ida Beavers 1884-1964. Her father was William Beavers, s/o Thomas R. Beavers, s/o William Beavers,s/o Robert (Robin) Beavers. Thats as far back as I can go. This is on a hand written chart. Someone sent this next item to me. I've not been able to verify it against anything yet, perhaps you can. It says William Beavers 1808-1849 married Nancy Harrison>> Hello, Dianna, Thanks for responding to my search for my Beavers relations. I don't have much information on my Beavers line. But, from what I have, I don't think there is a connection. Of course, since I don't have much, there could be a connnection. What I do know is that my Beavers are from Loudoun County, Virginia. What I have is John Thomas Beavers, 17 May 1849, Fairfax County, VA - 14 Dec 1890 married Sarah Ellen McCullock, May 1852, New York - 1920 They had 11 children. The line I am following is William Thomas Beavers, 30 Jan 1880, Loudoun County, VA - 27 Jul 1965 married Goldie Beaver, 15 Jul 1880, Loudoun County, VA - 30 Nov 1954, Washington DC They had 3 children, my grandmother was Olla Virginia Beavers married Walter Allen Harrison From what I can find, the parents of John Thomas was Samuel and Minerva Beavers. I have no information on them. Wish I could be of more help. 3. Many of you may have already made the same mistake that I did and opened a message that appeared to come from RootsWeb with the subject line "plagarism". Trust me, it isn't from RootsWeb but from some sort of spamming engine. Unlike a virus, it doesn't do any damage but it goes to everybody in you inbox and address book and it appears to be from somebody else who was in your inbox or address book! If you want to send a message that actually has to do with plagarism, please call it spaghetti or something until this thing runs it's course! And, if you have not already done so, don't open the darn things. If one show up in your e-mail, just delete it immediately. Isn't it a shame that folks who are smart enough to get something like this to work don't put that knowledge to better use? They might cure cancer or bring about peace in the Middle East (yeah)! 3. As you will see below, RootsWeb is upgrading their servers and messages will probably stop for a while over the next few days - depending on when they get around to our server. They don't expect to lose any messages, so go ahead and send as usual. There may be a delay before they show up in mailboxes, though, so have a little patience. Your list mom, Mickey Beginning Monday, 10 June 2002, RootsWeb will begin the complex and time-consuming process of upgrading our servers to new hardware. o What does this mean for you? Well, it means some servers will be unavailable during this time unavailable and we are asking for your patience. For up-to-date information about the different resources, you can visit http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/ as the move progresses. o List Administrators: When the time comes to move list servers, we will be halting operation on the machine to complete the move. We expect to have the machines down the least amount of time possible. No mail will be sent from or posted to your mailing lists. We do not expect to lose any messages. o Board Administrators: Nothing, unless your board happens to be gatewayed to a mailing list then the information for list administrators apply. o Web Pages: FTP will be down so that changes can't be made to pages until everything is working correctly on the new servers. There will be a short time that the pages will not be available as the transfer takes place. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we go through a few "growing pains." Also for the lives of sons, Moses BEAVERS and Abraham BEAVERS. Witnesses were: John WEST , Joseph HUTCHINSON , William MOORE , E. SNICKERS, Thomas LEWELLEN,, Richard GRUBBS, Jeremiah SANFORD,.
