I am looking specifically for a Charles Robert Beavers, who lived (or passed through) Fairfax VA in the 1880's. The only information I have on Charles is that he is the father of Mary Virginia Beavers (my husband's grandmother). Mary Virginia (Virgie) was born in Fairfax, VA 4 April 1888. A search by the Commonwealth of VA Dept. of Health revealed no record of her birth between 1880 and 1896. Her Social Security application lists father as Charles Robert Beavers, mother as Laura Virginia "last name unknown". Mary Virginia's death(dated 8 Dec 1966) lists Charles Beavers as father and "unknown" as mother, with place of birth listed as Virginia. Oral family history indicates that Mary Virginia had at least one sibling, a brother, possibly also named Charles. Certificate of marriage indicates she married Edward F. Poore at St. Alban's Rectory, Mt. St. Alban's, Washington D.C. on 17 May 1903. Mary Virginia birth 9 children, seven living to adulthood. And that's about it. Thanks for the offer of help. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, August 01, 2002 4:41 PM Subject: [BEAVERS] Re: Beavers- i need help finding a local family's family tree > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/RAD.2ACEB/506.1 > > Message Board Post: > > Which Beavers family are you looking for? I have these names I am researching: Elizabeth Ark (spelling ?) married a Frank Beavers. They had a child named Suzanne (spelling ?) It has been told through out the years that Suzanne was of Cherokee Descent. Her father was just called Grandpa Ark (spelling ?) and her mother was called Cherokee Sue. I do know that Suzanne married Grant Blevins and that they lived in SE Missouri in the early 1900's at a small town named Linda, near Portageville. Any help on researching these Beavers would be appreciated. Thank you, Linda
