He was married to Charlotte Rains Ashley in 1942. His children are my uncle Jerry Beavers, who is retired in North Carolina now. My father Michael Beavers lives in Northern Virginia, and his twin sister Maggie (Margaret) McKinley also lives in Northern Virginia. Hope this helps. He was born in NC on Oct 19, 1878, and he passed in Tallassee, Alabama on Dec 1, 1940. He was married to Nellie Gray Stephens from Wake County, NC (your Mammy I believe). Alexander was born someplace in Prince William co Virginia around 1806 He married Maria Arrington in DC around 1834 he moved with his family to Ohio in 1838. Both of his sons were in the Civil War.....and were hurt. a third son Ira died when he went to the war, and before he could get his uniform. I think his family was split apart The son John was sent west and the girl Jane was sent with another family. I need to know what happened to Marie, and the children I know he moved to Jefferson County West Virginia....and married a young widow and had 4 children. His second wife was Kate Johnson Ramsburg When he moved to Jefferson county he named the second family John, Ira, the names of his children he left in Ohio. I understand that for many years he did not know what happened to his some Ira. I think he was a broken man....his family was in complete shambles.
