    1. [BEATY] Beaty's In Georgia
    2. Earl: In response to your reply: "I am replying on the list with the expectation that others might wish to join the discussion.  If you would like to review the details of what we have, I would be pleased to do so either on or off the list." Yes, I would like to see what you have. I am also willing to share this on the list. I have been under the assumption that I am looking for a man named Thomas Beaty, with wife supposedly named Nancy Brantley. However, I spoke with a 78 year old Beaty cousin this weekend for the first time and he seemed to think the man I am looking for might be William Andrew Beaty, with no name for the wife. Supposedly this man was approx. 50 years old at the time his son, Thomas Jefferson Beaty was born in 1819 (Lowndes Co. GA according to his Confederate Pension Application). I am posting below the old search request I have been using to see if any of it might fit into your puzzle. Let me know if you find a Thomas Beaty or a William Beaty around the time of 1750 - 1819 in any of your other puzzle pieces. Thanks, Connie Beaty Gainesville, FL (See below) Previous research request: Searching for info on Thomas Beaty, Pulaski County, Georgia prior to 1824. Supposedly married to a Nancy Brantley. Left 2 orphan children, Andrew D. & Thomas J. Beaty. Found guardianship listing on internet for Pulaski Co. 6 Jul 1824: Darling JONES, guardian of Andrew D. Beaty and Thomas J. Beaty. Mary Jones and Haas Jones sec. for $3,000. Also found this printed in a book in the Huxford Genealogy Library in Homerville, GA. We think the children are Andrew Decatur Beaty (married Margaret Bembry)and Thomas Jefferson Beaty (married Charity Frier) who later moved to Hamilton Co., FL>Madison Co., FL. Thomas Jefferson Beaty also went to Hillsborough Co.,FL We have also recently found a handwritten note in some old papers/photos written by Thomas Jefferson Beaty's daughter. She said she thought he and his brother were orphans, however then went on to say that his mother remarried a man by the name of "Jones" and that she thought they had a son by the name of Sam Jones. We wonder if Darling Jones, guardian of the 2 orphaned Beaty children also became their step-father? I am also assuming from a few things I have read on that part of the historical times that if children lost their father, even if the mother was still living, they were still considered to be orphans. I have not made a trip to Pulaski County yet, but hope to sometime in the Spring. I have looked the internet "up and down" and so far have not found anything on Thomas Beaty (father) or Nancy Brantley (mother) - at least not that I recognize. I am assuming that Thomas Beaty (father) should be buried somewhere in Pulaski County since the guardianship was in that county. I haven't found much either on Darling Jones or Nancy Brantley Beaty Jones. I also am not sure of the name Brantley as her maiden name. All I have to go on is something someone told me that had also been looking. I have no documentation on this. As far as the internet goes, its like these people never existed. I have seen quite a few Beaty listings of people in Georgia through the phone number lookups, but there are way too many to call without first trying to narrow down people who might be descendants. The little bit I have found has suggested that the children were born in Pulaski Co., however, I have a copy of Thomas Jefferson Beaty's Confederate Pension Application in which he states that he was born in Lowndes Co. GA.
