Hello Lisa, Who would have the British origins of the BEATYS of Texas? Family folklore says that my line of BEATYS was from Tullamore in Ireland. Tullamore is 60 miles west of Dublin. I have been desperately trying to trace the origin of brothers Francis and Henry BEATY who were born in the 1760's, with no success so far. Can anyone help? My apologizes for not sending my previous message to the list administrator. I have been kicked off a mailing list for my action, I just did what I was told to do and honestly would have contacted the list administrator first .......I am sorry for any inconvenience. I just wanted everyone to know rather to lose all of their hard work like I did. It won't happen again. Lisa
I was lucky. I didn't open the message. I'm real leary of anything with an attachment. I just deleted it. Thanks for the warning. I received the same warning from another friend. Well said Charlene, I agree, we learn from mistakes, and no Lisa was not removed from any of my lists. Lisa Please quit appologizing....you did not know, you tried to help, I understand that. I don't even think you really did anything wrong. Its just that virus warnings stimulate the wrong type of email messages for a list. And Scare people....those of you who are not educated about viruses should go read about them and learn...there is a whole big bunch of nasty stuff out there. nelda From: "Charlene Beatty Beauchamp" (SNIP) Date: Wed, 25 Jul 2001 21:42:59 -0500 no apploigies needed... it is better safe than sorry... we all learn from others Charlene Beatty Beauchamp (SNIP) _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp
Dear List Members, Please do not send VIRUS warnings to the lists. Send them to me. Although, Lisa's warning is a true virus warning it should have been addressed to the personnel in her address book, not a rootsweb list. It is impossible for a virus to be carried through Rootsweb.com and sent out to the people on a list. Viruses need somewhere to hide. Rootsweb.com does not allow the use of anything but plain text messages; this gives a virus NO PLACE TO HIDE. That is the reason rootsweb.com does not allow attachments or the use of any thing but plain text. It is primarily for their and your protection. A Virus can look like it can from a list but, again it can not. By all means, go to your virus protection url and run an update and check your systems. It is imperative that you keep your virus protection up to date. have your system active and scan for viruses often. I update daily and run my Norton's daily. But then I am on the net about 10 hours daily. Lisa, this is in no way a slap on the hand, it is much better to let everyone know then to tell no one. But, please everyone send the notice to me, I can then check it for reliability. Make a judgment and send to the correct places. Always send a message to everyone in your address book though, for they could very well be infected. Does anyone have BEATY ancestral history in Tullamore, Ireland? I am looking for birth information for Francis BEATY and his brother Henry who were born in the 1760s in Tullamore. I am also most interested in the family in Devon, England. Francis and his wife Catherine gave birth to two sons, Francis and Henry in Stoke Damerel, Devon in 1802 and 1804 respectively. These two sons left for Bengal, India in the early 1820s and served in the Indian Army and died there. Any information would be most welcome. Best regards, Jeremy Beaty, Mississauga, Ontario. jbt@sympatico.ca http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/b/e/a/Jeremy-G-Beaty
A widow Jane Beaty married James Brooks on Nov. 27, 1829 in Maury County, TN. James and Jane moved to McNairy County, TN in 1834. She was born in VA in 1799. This is all the information I have. I am trying to find her maiden name. Perhaps there was a Beaty in Maury County, TN who died before the above date. Jane could have married the Beaty in Maury County, TN, in VA or even NC....since that's where James Brooks came from. I would appreciate any information in finding my gg grandmother's maiden name. Thanks. Carolyn Gregory

Georgia May DUNN (b. 1880 KY-1945 OK) ..........maybe another child of Louvina and William?? .....Louvina HALL m. 3rd Jeremiah D. Isaac Immanuel Smith m. to Margaret Isabel Greer, daughter; Arlettie Ora Smith. Arlettie is my grandma. On my mom's side, there is: Jane Smith d/o John Smith and Roseanna m. John W. Beaty 30 Dec 1797, Lincoln Co., NC. Their daughter, Mary married into the Rutledge line. Then I find them in odd places when I'm least expecting it on satellite branches. Ali Oh! I forgot to mention that I have a genealogy report on the descendants of Francis Beaty, grandfather of John Beaty. If anyone is interested, feel free to give them my email also and I will send them a copy as an attachment. The attachments are created from my computer so they are clean. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ==== TN-MEMORIES Mailing List ==== The offering for sell or advertisement of a product will not be allowed on this list. Just to let you know they are not free. I received your request for more information about my photographs, thank you for your interest. For Photographs from number 901-1022 see http://people.delphi.com/yatsuo PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING TO THE NEXT STEP: PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS PERSONAL In the past I have tried to make my photographs available for free, but the service was misused. I was getting requests for 15 to 20 photographs from one e-mail address, knowing it was just to copy the photographs, or people doing research for other families. I found genealogist-doing research and charging them for my photographs, this did not set well with me. A request to look at the photo before sending fee does not work, after seeing county and state web sites with my photographs on their web page with no credits or payment. I stopped sending under those conditions. I get about 150 requests per day. My feeling is $2.00 per photo is a fair price. For the process: of buying, organizing, scanning and e-mailing the photograph out. I also will mail out a hard copy for $7.00 (US Mail) This separates the earnest researcher from the not so serious (just for free) people. I can not guarantee the photographs requested will be your family members; I only go by the information on the photograph. I hope you can understand my feelings and my policy. I hope you find your family photographs in my collection. I am not asking for much: You don't have to buy a large file off a CD You don't have to pay a membership fee I will send a jpeg or other types of formats over the web for $2.00 per photograph or hard copy for $7.00 (US Mail). (Checks or Money Order is ok) Please check my web site for more information http://www.genealogyphotos.com Original photographs are not for sale, as you can see on my website. 20% of my database is on: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~rampage In the file indextwo.txt My mailing address is: 11338 Grandeville Drive Tampa, Fl. 33617 ----- Original Message ----- From: Nelda Percival <nelda_percival@hotmail.com> To: <BEATY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, May 05, 2001 7:39 PM Subject: BEATTY PICTURES UNCLAIMED FREE > I was going through my email and found this addy where the pictures listed > below were listed, if they are yours or you are interested contact tom at > email addy below...Nelda > > the addy to see the listing of names is: > > http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~rampage/indextwo.txt > > THE PAGE STARTS LIKE THIS: > > YOUR FAMILY MAYBE IN MY COLLECTION OF PHOTOGRAPHS > Did you ever wonder what happen to your GREAT GRAND PARENTS > FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHS I MAY HAVE THEM. > I began over 33 years ago collecting old photographs and family albums as a > Hobby. Each application has the lineage of the person applying for membership to the war soldier. If you find a ancestor you can try to get the application(s) for the members that have joined through that soldier. Hope this helps someone. Notice that the DAR also has BATEY in this name group. I believe that the DAR considers these names to be interchangeable, that is why each soldier does not have his name listed with his posting.
