Beasley Barney T. Beasley Jackson Barney Tyson Beasley, 74, died Saturday, January 10, 2009, at home surrounded by his family. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at 3 pm in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church in Clinton with burial following in the Clinton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 pm to 8 pm today at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton and Wednesday at the church from 2 pm to 3 pm. Mr. Beasley was born February 18, 1934, in Shuqualak, MS, the son of the late William and Susan Beasley. After graduation from Shuqualak High School, he continued his education attending Hinds Community College. Mr. Beasley was a retired mechanic, specializing in the repair of heavy machinery. He loved working in his shop and had the ability and talent to restore anything. Mr. Beasley was an avid sportsman who loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time on his farm raising his cattle and was particularly proud of his new bull Mando. Mr. Beasley will be remembered as a giving man who was willing to help anyone in need. He was a faithful member of Lula Baptist Church who for seven years maintained the church grounds. Mr. Beasley enjoyed traveling with his wife of 58 years to visit family and friends living throughout the United States and abroad. Mr. Beasley was well known by family and friends for his sense of humor and for his practical jokes. Mr. Beasley will most be remembered as a beloved husband, a cherished father, and a world class grandfather ("Pappaw") who always attended his grandchildren's activities with great pride. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Vivian Inez Beasley of Jackson; daughter, Sandra Beasley Mayo (Steve) of Madisonvile, LA; son, Hank Beasley (Patricia) of Jackson; son, Milton Beasley (Robin) of Jackson; son Manuel Beasley (Cindy) of Jackson; grandchildren, Tara Mayo Grissom (Brian) of Mandeville, LA, Steven P. Mayo of Ridgeland, Brett Beasley of Hattiesburg, Megan Beasley of Jackson, Brittany Beasley of Brandon, Hunter Beasley of Hattiesburg, Brandon Beasley of Jackson, Jessica Beasley of Jackson, Ryan Cole of Jackson, Lexie Cole of Jackson, Chase Higbee of Oxford, Meagan Higbee of Madison, Brian Higbee of Madison, Aurie Higbee of Jackson; great grandchildren, Jordan Grissom, Ty Michael Grissom, and Hayden McKinley; sister, Gladys Cotton of Clinton Township, MI; sister, Mary Alice Coleman of Shuqualak; brother, Jimmy Beasley of Alvin, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
