These are my direct ancestors and the "Annie Nivens" born in August of 1884 is Anna Livicia Nivens, not Vicie Ann. Anna Livicia Nivens married James Lane Beasley, these are my great grandparents. Anna Livicia Nivens b. 1884 is the d/o James Thomas Nivens b. 1859 and Emma Jane "Amy" Cape (I have the large oval rounded glass in original frame portrait that graces my main living room, it was handed down from my grandfather who was the son of Anna Livicia Nivens and James Lane Beasley). James Thomas Nivens was the son of Thomas Jefferson Nivens b. 1827 and Jeminima Pamenella Poindexter who is also referred to as Vicie Ann Poindexter by some in records, this is where the confussion comes in on Vicie Ann, who is part Cherokee. After years of research, this may have occured due to the Native American in Jeminima and it was very common at this time for them to actually change their entire names. So anyone researching this family, not only do you to research Jeminima Pamenella (also even listed as Jemima) but also for Vicie Ann Poindexter. She was the d/o Archibald Thomas "Tom" Poindexter and Fannie Coe. This family of Poindexters and Nivens all came out of Tennessee. Hope this helped some. Best Regards, Kathy
