    3. I have a John Beasley who we've been looking for for at least 10 years. We believe he had brothers Samuel and Joseph and was in South Carolina or Georgia (depending on the information giver on the census). Have you seen a John Beasley in your research. I think he could possibly have been in the Old Walton War area. He was born in 1782 and died in 1874 in Maries Co., MO. Any help you could give would be very greatly appreciated. Thanks. 2. David Beasley
    3. Debby, from my notes: As a Revolutionary Soldier, John Beasley was a fortunate drawer of two lots in the 1820 Georgia Land Lottery. John was a resident of Franklin County, Ga. and drew lot # 378 of Early County and # 189 of Irwin County. (Authentic List of All Land Lottery Grants Made to Veterans of the Revolutionary War by the State of Georgia: from Official State Records housed in the Georgia Department fo Archives and History; Atlanta, Georgia 30334; compiled by Alex M. Hitz; second edition 1966) A John Beasley is listed in the "Roster of South Caroline Patriots in the American Revolution" by Bobby G. Moss, 1983. He was born about 1755; died after 23 Feb 1808; married Margaret (Millie) Smith; and served in the militia. Patriot Index Supplement. A John Beasley is found in the 1800 Pendleton County, S.C. census (NARs M-32; StRL-050) page 34. His family group was: 3,0,0,1,0, - 1,0,1,0,0, - 0,0. Samuel and William Beasley were also listed on page 35 of the same census. (USGenWeb) Three white males and one white females in the household were less than ten years of age. There were no residents ten to sixteen years of age and one females between the age of sixteen and 26 years. One male (likely John) was between twenty six years and forty five years. There were no slaves. John witnessed the purchase of land by William Beazley from James Cannon in 1790 indicating he was at least 21 years of age at that time. He witnessed other transactions in 1797 as recorded in Conveyence Book B of Pendleton Co, S.C. 1701-1795 ("Pendleton District, S.C. Deeds 1790-1806": Willie.) John Beazley witnessed two transactions for Phillip Cox of Pendleton Cty., S.C. in 1800 and 1802. Could this be a family connection to John's grandson Phillip who married Mary Cox September 1, 1849 in DeKalb Cty., Ga.? John had four children to my best research: Isaac (b prior 1800?); William M. (b ab 1796); Sara (b. ab 1812 & who married Tom McGriff); John Allen b 1812 from whom I descend. John moved from Franklin Cty, Ga to Gwinnett Cty, Ga and to DeKalb Cty. Ga. He died in 1830 after the 1830 census. The transaction between William and James Cannon was in Pendleton Cty, S.C. and possibly the Walton War area. I'd like to learn more of the Samuel in the 1800 census. 3. The John Beasley who was b 1755 was born in NC and died in Darlington S.C., so would not be the one you are looking for. I am still trying to determine whether or not he was the grandfather of my 3great-grandfather John Beasley who was b 1788 Darlington S.C., died 1860 Darlington S.C. Carol B.
