"In Fairfield County, South Carolina, sometime shortly after the Revolution, there was a deed involving Jacob Beasley in which the text stated 'formerly known as Jacob Biegler.' Obviously this German name of Biegler became anglicized to Beasley." (So, when researching this family, the documents might be under the name Biegler before the Revolution and Beasley after.) Also from the same researcher: "There was a large German colony in the original Anson County, North Carolina, the part that is now Chester County, South Carolina The Biegler/Beigler name was anglicized to Beasley, just as Kolb was to Culp. Look for Biegler records in Anson County, North Carolina, prior to 1769." ~~~~ I am searching for info on ABRAHAM BEASLEY, b. ca 1700, probably in NC; wife's name unknown. Son JACOB b. ca 1728, m. Margaret Pickins ca 1758. They had 8 children: Geo., Peter, SARAH CATHERINE (m. Higgins), Mary, Modleanch, Eliz., Adam and Jacob. Are any of these Beasleys in your book? Thanks for any help, Glenna Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
