I appreciate this correction. Rev. Marion is not in my direct line, but Barnet and Susannah Baugh Beasley are my ancestors to. Someone did a book on this line a few years back and contacted me. They had all the info about the origin of the John Pitts Beasley line in America all listed as fact rather than a version of the story. I tried to get it corrected, but never heard back from the man. Weird, I have Beasley's on my side and Baugh's (PA, VA & KY) on my husbands side. Does anyone have any information on this John Beasley? I have been searching for years. All the census records show that James owns property, therefore there must be land records. In the 1850 and 1860 Census', James was still single, and living and working on his father's farm. James' father's name is Harmon King. The 1900 Census shows the month and year James was born, August 1837. According to the 1840 census, the is a males shown under the age of 5.
