yes, have a good weekend. David
I will keep my eye out, while doing my research for your line. I hope you and others on this List will keep an eye out for mine. Elaine
Elaine, thanks for the reply. I believe your James and John C. are of a different line than mine. It is confusing with so many Williams and JOhns. My ggg grandfather was John (no middle name to my knowledge) who had 4 children I know of ....Isaac, William M., John Allen, Sr., and Sarah. I'm of the John Allen (b 1812) line. Isaac died before 1830 but left a widow, Cynthia and several children who stayed in DeKalb Cty (buckhead) and then Fulton Cty. One of these was Simeon R. Beasley. I am trying to track his family and connect with Beasleys still in Atlanta today. Our lines may be misleading with the 1860 Fulton census. David
David, the first record I have found for them is James Beasley in the 1840 Henry County, GA Census. In 1850 James and son John C.Beasley are both Heads of Household in the42nd Dist., Henry County, GA Census. I also have the marriage record of John C. and Malvina Hooton from Henry County dated 7 August 1845. In 1860 James - Atlanta Ward 1 and John C. Blackhall Dist. are both Heads of HH in the Fulton County, GA census. James list his place of birth as South Carolina. James and wife Matilda remain in Fulton County and are in the 1870 Fulton Co., GA census, 1st Ward Atlanta, James dies in Atlanta in 1877 and Matilda dies in 1879 in Atlanta. They are either buried or a memorial was put in Barfield Cemetery in Henry County for both of them. I have pictures of the markers. Before the 1870 census, John C. and family, head to Mobile County, AL and are in the 1870 census , in Beat 3, spelled Beally instead of Beasley. In 1880 John is in Kostern Prec., Malvina has died, son James H. and wife Eugenia are in census in Whistler Twp. I have Alabama Marriage Record of James H. and Eugenia dated 15 April 1880 and Marriage Record of his brother Emerson Beasley and Abigail Findley dated 21 March 1880. In the mid to late 1890's James H. and Eugenia move to Meridian, MS and in 1902, James H. dies while working on the Mobile and Ohio Railroad. Eugenia dies in the 1952, in Meridian. I do not know any of John C. brother or sisters. There was a marriage record of an Elizabeth Beasley and a William Beasley in Henry Co., GA, but I do not know if they are connected. Children of John C. Beasley and Malvina Hooten Beasley William G. born about 1846 James Henry born 24 Jan. 1848 Mary A. born about 1850 Amanda M. born about 1852 Emerson F. born about 1856 I have no other information on these siblings of my G-Grandfather, James H. Beasley. I would love to find out, what happened to them. I sure would appreciate it, if you ever find anything on this line, letting me know. Take care, Elaine
Elaine, when were your relatives in Henry and Fulton Counties? What were their names? My line moved from Pendleton SC into Franklin Cty, Ga (could have been Henry cty area) ab 1806; to Gwinnett cty; to DeKalb Cty. My line moved on into Carroll Cty and then Marion Cty., Ala. I am currently researching the line that stayed in DeKalb, Fulton, and Clay Cty from 1840s on. David
Pat and David, I am also interested in both of your Alabama Beasleys. My line starts in SC (I believe but can't prove yet), then went to Henry Co., GA, Fulton Co., GA, then Mobile Co., AL, (Whistler Township). GGG Grandparents were, James Beasley & Matilda C. Unknown Beasley, GG Grandparents John C. Beasley & Malvina Hooten Beasley, and my G-Grandparents James H. Beasley and Eugenia Alice Morgan Beasley. Are either one of you connected to any of these? Thanks, Elaine
Pat, thanks for the information of Robert. Please tell me more of your Alabama Beasleys. My line moved from SC, to Georgia, and into Alabama. David

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/plC.2ACEB/1088 Message Board Post: I'm looking for any background info on my great-grandmother: Lillis Virginia Beasley. All I know is that she was born about 1859, possibly in Ark., and that she married Joseph Knapp. Lillis and Joseph had two daughters: Mary E."Mamie", and Emma. Joseph died in 1883 near Little Rock, Ark. when the girls were still very young. Lillis remarried shortly after being widowed, and her new husband took the family to Texas. I would greatly appreciate any clues as to the ancestors of Lillis Beasley.
I, too, have been researching my Beasleys. My Beasleys came first to the Colony of Virginia, having settled first in the coastal region not far north of Jamestown, then going inland to Caroline county. One later came to Alabama when it was opened and filing a land grant there moved his family there. To then answer your question, the first Beasley I have found was Robert Beasley, aged 43 who came to Virginia 28February 1640. This was obtained from the early colonists list at the state Library of Virginia in their archives. He came froom All Hallows, Barking( and I make the assumption that this is England. Good hunting.
