Joyce, I just started with rootsweb so that is why you havn't heard from me. I do not have any Beasley's that are direct line for me but just thought that I may be able to help someone when they get far enought back. The first Harrison Family member to come into Norfolk Co., Va & Princess Anne Co., Va. was Patrick Harrison . He brought with him his wife Sarah & children Susannah, Jane, Henry, John & Thomas. Patricks sister ( do not know her first name ) married Thomas Beasley who had sons Thomas & William. I believe they had land in Currituck, N.C.. Later the family may have gone down into South Carolinia & Georgia. I have no proof of them going into both of those states but I know that many families did this. Patrick came into my area around 1672. He received a land grant of 350 acres. He did not leave a will but I do have his inventory. Let me know if you get back this far & by than maybe I'll know more . Pat Wish I could help you more but have not done much research on them.

Can you supply some general information about your grandfather such as where he was raised, where he died, where he was buried. Anything to tie him geographically to an area. Your Beasley Family may have come from Princes Anne Co., Va.. I have a Patrick Harrison who's sister married Thomas Beasley of Norfolk Co., Va. & Princess Anne Co., Va.. He had sons Thomas & William Beasley . They were also in Currituck Co., N.C.. Patrick Harrison came into Norfolk Co., Va. around 1675 with his wife Sarah ? & four children Susanah, Jane, Thomas, Henry & John. I think that if you find them in S.C. you will end up in N.C. & than Va.. Pat
Hi Pat, Can you please tell us when these Beasleys were in Currituck Co. NC? Thanks!, Melissa --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now

I had guessed that John had a previous wife but have no proof. I have had the same experience as you in finding where John & Jane were born. I descend from Elizabeth, b 1826 in KY, who married Nealy Birdsong. I believe they moved to Maries Co MO along with the Beasley clan. This past year I had a Civil War tombstone erected for Nealy Birdsong in Hickory Grove Cem. Do you have a clue where Beasleys were buried? any photos? Joyce

His brother William would be William Oliver Beasley/Beesley b. 1830.. So far we haven't been able to absolutely pinpoint the birth place of John but at one time it was believed to have been in Ga., at least that is what he listed in the 1860 Maries Co. census where he is living with his son Joseph, but according to the 1880 census for Maries Co. Mo. his children give it as both N.C and S.C, with N.C winning in 3 out of 4. Supposedly he had a first wife but haven't found proof of that yet, but she is supposed to be the mother to Lucinda and they had three other children, John, Jesse and Champ. Been trying to figure out if John is the same John Wesley Beasley b. 1782 in S.C who had the brothers Silas Mercer Beasley, William Beasley, James Beasley, Rueben Beasley and Champion Beasley.
Hi, I have a John Jennings who married a Sarah Beasley (spelled various ways). He was born 7 October 1724 in either England or US. A deposition filed in US says he was born in England. I have hit a brick wall! Do you have any access to any record where this might be located or information you may have obtained doing research? I have all information from him to present time. Sarah died 17 May 1791 near Rockville, MD, USA., where the family lived in 1776 and Sarah is listed as 35 years old. John died circa 1800 near Rockville, Maryland, USA. I have family from 1776 to present day on Jennings. Appreciate any help or assistance. Regards, Ruth Henry --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Blance and George bore a son and two daughters, the son being John Edward, born in Sheffield. Does this mean anyone researching Beasleys in the UK? If so then I'd love to hear from you.
