This info was from Family Search. Then on Ancestry.com you can find him under Madison Beasley married Edy Woods and had a daughter Hariet. And that will give you info back a few generations. Some say the original progenitor of the Florida Beasleys was John Pitt Beasley--but I don't know that as a fact. How come I can find your Beasley in ten minutes and haven't been able to find mine in 30 years!!!!!! Happy hunting!

He was married to a Sallie Rebeca Townsend. They are buried in the Hawthorne Cemetary in Hawthorne, Florida. My grandmother, Mamie Florida Beasley Smith is also buried there. She was their first born, in April of 1902. She had 4 sisters and one brother. The last 2 born were twins. My grandmother was a teacher for a time and married Grady Arthur Smith in her twenties. Her sister's were Edith, Pearle, Alice, and Ella Mae and her brother was Alton. Alice and Alton were the twins. I know Alton had a son that was a lawyer on the east coast of Florida for a time. I would like to go back further than James Madison if possible. Anyone having info can e-mail me at [email protected]

I can't find out what happened to him. My GGGGgrandmother is Penelope Eveline Beasley Howell, she did not go by the name of Penelope, she went by Eveline. I have'nt been able to find out if she had any children with John. She married my GGGGgrandfather in 1866. The 1880 Chilton County AL Census lists children Elizabeth, Malind, Victoria (my GGGgrandmother), Rufus and James. If anyone can shed any more light on John Beasley, I'd really appreciate it. Elizabeth and Malind were born before Thomas and Eveline were married. But I don't know if they are his children or Eveline's and John Beasley. Katherine Toomey
