David, This is my husband's line. His grandfather was Simeon's son, William Thomas Beasley who was married to Minnie Ola Hicks. I am not familiar with John Allen Beasley as I have only researched Simeon's direct line. I would love to share what I have and be able to learn more about John Allen Beasley. Cynthia is also on the 1840 census for DeKalb County, Georgia, Dist. 722, pg. 61. I do not know the name of Simeon's father. Simeon was a railroad man who worked for the Western & Atlantic railroad. He was mustered into the Confederate army and appears on a muster roll with other railroad workers. He worked as a lineman and kept the rails open for trains to run supplies to the Army of Tennessee in North Georgia and Tennessee.
