He m 1840, Fayette Co., GA, Sarah Ann Elizabeth HEAD, dau of Taverner/Tavenah and Jane (PLUNKETT) Head, who was b 1821, Elbert Co., GA, and d 1893, Fayette Co., GA. William Winn's sister, Martha Bearden, m 25 Jan 1838, Fayette, Thomas Jones Head, son of Taverner/Tavenah and Jane (Plunkett) Head who migrated to Elbert Co., GA, from Orange Co., VA (where they married in 1798). [Tavenah was son of rev war pat Capt. Benjamin and Martha (Sherman) Head of St. Thomas Par., Orange, and Jane was daughter of Jesse Plunkett of Orange.] William Perryman Head, son of Thomas Jones and Martha (Bearden) Head, m Sarah Jane CARTER, daughter of John Wesley Carter [1818-1864] of Fayette Co., GA, and migrated with their family to Smith Co., TX, in 1885.
