Hope this rings a bell with someone out there who is related to our BEARDEN's. If so, would love to hear from you. We are stumped right now on our BEARDEN ancestors. A PEVRIL sent me these obits from Piedmont, MO. We had a Joseph PEVRIL and a Martha Jane BEARDEN marry in Reynolds Co. MO., Dec 25, 1887 and lived in Reynolds and Wayne Co. repsectively. These two obits are nephews of Martha Jane . They are children of her brother David Ray BEARDEN. ARTHUR D. BEARDEN Arthur D. Bearden, 94, died May 24, 1998 in Clark's Mountain Nursing Center in Piedmont. He had been a farmer, and was a member of the Piedmont Nazarene Church. He was born Dec. 12, 1903 in Piedmont. On Dec 25, 1924, he was united in marriage to Hazel Lee Williams and she preceded him in death on July 5, 1993. Survivors include one son, David Bearden, Piedmont; one daughter, Betty Clubb, Piedmont; four brothers, Alvis Bearden, Ozrow Bearden, both of Piedmont, Freeman Bearden, Fenton, and Bob Bearden, Shelton, Wash.; one sister, Eva Cuzick, Shelton, Wash.; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, David Ray and Lucinda C. Eaton Bearden, two daughters, Lorine Kohl and Pauline Marschel, five brothers and two sisters. The funeral was May 26, 1998 at 2 p.m. in the Ruegg Funeral Home at Piedmont. The Reverends Wayne Street and Tom Beard officiated. Recorded music selections were played. Pallbearers were Justin Bearden, Mike Kimes, Lindell Cook, Travis Crum, Tom Huge and Roby Bearden. Burial was in the Bearden Family Cemetery, Piedmont. ALVIS J. BEARDEN Alvis J. Bearden, 86, died on June 19, 1998 in Clark's Mountain Nursing Center, Piedmont, MO. He had worked at Brown Shoe Company where he was a leather grader and he was a farmer. He was born Oct 11, 1911 in Piedmont. On Nov. 27, 1935, he was united in marriage to Alice Kelly and she preceded him in death in 1966. In 1970, he was united in marriage to Norma Newlan Young and she survives. Also surviving are one son, Wayne Bearden, Piedmont; three brothers, Bob Bearden, Shelton, Wash., Freeman Bearden, Fenton, and Ozrow Bearden, Piedmont; one sister, Eva Cuzick, Shelton, Wash.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six step sons, Tim Young, Burleson, Texas, Jerry Young, Farmington, David Young, Piedmont, Floyd Young, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Larry Young, Florence, S.C., and Raymond Young, Poplar Bluff; and three step daughters, Dena Young, Easley, S.C., Joan Boiter, Florence, S.C., and Rita Roberts, Marietta, S.C. He was preceded in death by one son, James Bearden, one daughter, Teresa Bearden, and one grandson, Ryan Young. He was a member of the Peach Tree General Baptist church. The funeral was June 22, 1998, at 10a.m. in the Ruegg Funeral Home at Piedmont. Ministers were Rev. Steve Sale and Rev. Arzie Ezell. Music was by soloist Joan Boiter, the Peach Tree ladies choir and Jeannie Coleman, pianist. Pallbearers were Gene Bearden, Walter Bearden, Paul Bearden, David Bearden, Artie Street and Devin Clyburn.
