An update from the tribal meeting Friday night. It apprears that light-skinned people are in the minority, but we were accepted by friendly folks. I think there are only two families and we are Massasoit's (Ousa Mequin). The other is from his brother-in-law. But I'm still very new at this. For all descendants of Josiah: The deadline to have all our stuff in to the BIA is Oct 1, so Linda Degnan needs our stuff now to be members. The Mashpee tribe wants to get out of the Wampanoag Federation apparently and go on their own. They won't accept anyone into their ranks who wasn't living in Mashpee and active in the tribe. Wendy's family was certianly close all these years. Sharon
