The RLDS was a splinter group who beleive that Joseph Smith's son would be the President of LDS Church. Most of the followers stayed with the leadership of the LDS "Mormon" church. My ancestors, Rebeccaand her husband both died in Iowa during that forced move. I have no idea about the Rev. John Lathrop.
